ABOUT US

Marketing isn’t about shouting louder.
It’s about speaking to your tribe in a language they can hear and feel.

On The Savvy is a boutique marketing company serving independent artists, boutique labels, music conferences, and creative small businesses. We help our clients define their audience, build meaningful fan relationships, and grow with intention—through clear strategy, structured systems, and a deep understanding of human behavior.

We started this company out of frustration. Too many good artists were getting pulled into scams, burned by bloated promises, or handed vague marketing plans with no real backbone. We built On The Savvy to be the opposite of that: practical, honest, and psychology-backed.

Our approach isn’t about chasing algorithms or vanity metrics. It’s about building connection at scale—real audience growth through systems that align with who you are and where you’re going.

Whether we’re managing Meta ad campaigns, running Spotify playlist strategies, creating content systems, or guiding an artist 1:1, we approach each project with clarity and care. No filler. No fluff. Just work that works.

There is no template strategy that works for everyone. That’s why each of our campaigns are custom fit to each of our clients and their unique fanbase. Method Matters.

Meet Our Team

founder at On The Savvy and voice behind indie band: Spring Owls

Jesse D. Lacy

Founder | Meta Ads Expert | Music Industry Strategist and Consultant

Howdy! I’m a seasoned musician who’s performed over 600 shows across the U.S., from dimly lit dive bars, introspective cafés to packed concert halls and festival grounds.

My journey has taken me behind the scenes as well—crafting press campaigns for indie artists and films like Jimi: All Is By My Side (starring André 3000), orchestrating the first CD Baby Conference, and collaborating with outlets such as Rolling Stone and NPR’s Tiny Desk.

At On The Savvy, I steer Meta and Spotify ad strategies, develop digital marketing systems, and provide artist coaching.

I’m also the voice behind Spring Owls, whose recent crowdfunding campaign raised over $10,000 to produce merchandise that’s third-party certified: ethically sourced and made by workers treated with dignity.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find me swaying to live music in a Los Angeles venue, finding balance in a hot yoga class, trekking toward a hidden waterfall, or penning thoughts in the cozy corner of a neighborhood café.

Melody Cung

Social Media Manager | Visual Strategist | SMM Coach

Hi there! I’m Melody, creative at heart with a deep passion for using design, storytelling, and strategy to connect with people in meaningful ways.

I earned my B.A. in Communications from San Diego State University, with minors in Web Design and Digital Marketing. That led me to managing social media for Broken Yolk Cafe’s 36+ locations, as well as spearheading influencer campaigns, ad targeting, and event planning across multiple industries. I also recently developed and taught STEM and art-based classes to help kids grow in creativity, innovation, and confidence.

At On The Savvy, I lead organic social strategy, full-service content creation, and coaching calls to help our clients grow with clarity and intention.

Outside of work, I’m an avid San Diego-based foodie who loves exploring my city...whether that’s yoga, pilates, live music, or finding my next favorite restaurant!
